Maintaining a roof

Upon passing our clients’ house we noticed watermarks on their facias board and crumbling cement on the sides of the roof. This can be an indication of possible underlying problems with a roof and so we recommend the customer allow us to conduct a survey of their roof.

Upon Removing the tiles on their roof we discovered; rotting roof battens, holes in the felt, crumbling verge cement, water damage fascia boards, loose ridge tiles, and watermarked plastics.

In our estimation, the clients’ roof was very close to requiring a complete reroof and its fortunate one of our experts happened to discover this.

Remember: It benefits to have regular surveys carried out on your roof. We would recommend one a year a couple of months before winter to address any problems that have arisen. The cost of a survey once a year is vastly inferior to waiting and finding an unexpected problem.

Upon showing the customer the damage to his property, he was wise enough to immediately begin the work to rectify these alarming issues to his roof. Because of how alarming the issues were, we were able to arrange work to commence almost immediately

Remember: Regular maintenance of your roof can help prevent and serious damage occurring unexpectedly. Sudden extremes occurring such as; snow, frost, vast rainfall, or high winds, can cause great damage if your property isn’t regularly maintained.
